Character Spotlight #38-Keeper Aquilus (#4 United Colonies/New Atlantis Series)
In this Character Spotlight, learn about Keeper Aquilus and Keir Dullea, the voice actor behind Keeper Aquilus.

**Meet Keeper Aquilus **
Keeper Aquilus is a calm, contemplative figure within Starfield, serving as a spiritual guide and philosophical anchor for those who cross his path. As the Keeper of the Sanctum Universum in New Atlantis, he represents humanity’s enduring need to search for meaning beyond the material, bridging faith, science, and the unknowable vastness of the cosmos.
Aquilus speaks with quiet conviction, encouraging reflection rather than obedience, and his beliefs center on the idea that the universe itself holds a deeper truth waiting to be understood. In a galaxy driven by exploration, conflict, and ambition, Keeper Aquilus stands apart as a reminder that not all journeys are measured in distance or discovery, but in understanding one’s place within something far greater.
Meet Keir Dullea
Keir Dullea’s film career includes several influential and memorable roles, most notably portraying astronaut David Bowman in 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968), a performance he later reprised in 2010: The Year We Make Contact (1984).
Earlier in his career, he starred in David and Lisa (1962), which helped establish him as a serious dramatic actor, followed by roles in The Thin Red Line (1964), Bunny Lake Is Missing (1965), and Madame X (1966). He later portrayed the infamous Marquis in De Sade (1969) and appeared in cult and suspense favorites such as The Last of Sheila (1973) and Black Christmas (1974).
On television, Dullea built an extensive list of guest and recurring appearances, including roles in The Twilight Zone, Kraft Suspense Theatre, Ben Casey, and The Defenders. In later years, he appeared as Judge William Wright on Law & Order and made guest appearances on series such as Murphy Brown, the original Hawaii Five-O, and St. Elsewhere, further showcasing his versatility across genres and decades of television storytelling.
His role as Keeper Aquilus is a rare crossover from his long film, television, and stage career into interactive media. Given his iconic sci-fi legacy with 2001: A Space Odyssey, it feels very intentional (and honestly kind of poetic) that Starfield would be the project to bring him into gaming for the first, and so far only, time.
