About Starfield Unity

Welcome to Starfield Unity — a fan-made site born from my deep love for Starfield and a desire to create something positive and helpful for fellow players. This is a labor of love dedicated to celebrating the game itself, the adventures waiting in the Settled Systems, and the community that keeps the journey alive.

Why Starfield?

Starfield captures so much of what I love about games. As someone who's always been drawn to science fiction and space exploration, Bethesda's vision of the Settled Systems resonates deeply with me. The sense of wonder when jumping to a new star system, the stories waiting to be discovered on distant planets, and the freedom to forge your own path — it all comes together in a way that keeps me coming back.

I'm particularly drawn to the ship building and gunplay. There's something incredibly satisfying about designing a ship that's uniquely yours, then taking it into combat and feeling every shot land. But beyond the mechanics, it's the atmosphere — the feeling of being a small part of a vast, mysterious universe — that truly captivates me.

The Power of Creations

With a major Starfield update and story expansion arriving on Apr 7, this is an exciting time to focus on the core game experience: exploration, ship combat, roleplaying, and the stories Bethesda is still adding to this universe. Starfield Unity is built to support that excitement and help players stay connected to what is happening in-game.

A big part of that is cataloguing community-made add-ons available from Starfield's in-game menu, where they are officially listed as Creations. Across the site, you'll often see "mods" and "Creations" used together so players can quickly recognize that we're talking about the same content available directly inside the game.

A Space for Positivity

I recognize that Starfield isn't perfect — no game is. But it includes so much of what I love, and I believe in focusing on the positive. There's already enough negativity online. Instead, I wanted to create a space dedicated to honest, helpful content that helps others have a better experience with the game.

Whether you're diving into the new expansion content, tuning your current playthrough, or just looking for ideas from other captains, I hope this site helps you find what you need. My goal is to make it easier to discover useful information, connect with other players, and celebrate the game we all enjoy — flaws and all.

About Me

Hi, I'm Jeff. I'm a software engineer who has been passionate about building websites since 2004 (and before; anyone remember GeoCities?) and has loved video games since my Sega Genesis in the 90s. I tend to lurk, and up-vote things, on Reddit as Ghastly-Knight-117, so you probably won't know me from there, but I have enjoyed others' contributions to the Starfield community.

I've been playing Starfield on my Xbox Series X since the first week it came out (delayed a few days as I finished another favorite space game, Everspace 2). I have wanted to explore creating mods myself, but I don't own a PC (just Macs) and I've never dabbled with Creation Kit before. So, for now at least, I'll leave that to the experts we have already in the community and focus on what I do best: making websites that help others.

I love this game, and I'm grateful to be part of a community that feels the same way. Welcome aboard, and enjoy your journey through the stars.
