Meet Sona

Sona is a young girl discovered on the planet Cassiopeia I during Sarah Morgan’s companion mission, “In Memoriam.” She was born on the planet after a United Colonies military shuttle crashed there during the Colony War, leaving the surviving crew — including Sona’s parents — stranded. Over time, both of her parents perished, and Sona was left completely alone to survive in the planet’s harsh, alien environment. When Sarah and the Spacefarer find her years later, she has become resourceful and resilient, capable of surviving off the land. Her intelligence and adaptability are clear.

Moved by the discovery, Sarah (with the help of the Spacefarer) ensures Sona’s safe transport to New Atlantis, where she can finally live among people. It's a living reminder of the human cost of war and the strength of those who endure it.

Meet Rosalie Chiang

Rosalie Chiang is an American actress, author, and voice performer best known for her breakout role as Meilin “Mei” Lee in Pixar’s 2022 animated film Turning Red. Her role as Mei Lee made her the first Asian lead for Pixar and one of the youngest leads at the time of release. Born on October 1, 2005, in Fremont, California, she began acting at a young age, appearing in short films and commercials before earning her first major voice role with Pixar.

In addition to her film work, Chiang is also an accomplished writer, having published poetry and children’s books while still a teenager. Known for her expressive, youthful voice and emotional range, she later lent her talents to the 2023 Bethesda game Starfield, voicing Sona, the feral yet intelligent child discovered on Cassiopeia I.

Chiang continues to pursue both acting and writing, often using her platform to advocate for greater Asian American representation in media.
