Character Spotlight #71-Mathis Castillo
In this Character Spotlight, learn about Mathis Castillo and Christopher Lee Parson, the voice actor behind Mathis Castillo (also Cornelius Townard, Lon Anderssen, Philippe Corbin, William Crowley and The First).

Meet Mathis Castillo
Mathis Castillo is a member of the Crimson Fleet who first becomes involved with the Spacefarer during the Fleet’s recruitment process. He is ambitious, confrontational and openly distrustful, with a tendency to push boundaries and challenge authority when he thinks it might benefit him.
During the mission “Echoes of the Past,” Mathis accompanies the Spacefarer and Delgado to the abandoned Lock prison on Suvorov, where he quickly reveals just how self-serving he can be by suggesting that he and the Spacefarer turn against Delgado and take control of the Fleet for themselves. His attitude makes him one of the more unpredictable figures among the Crimson Fleet recruits, and the Spacefarer’s choices during the mission can greatly affect what happens to him afterward.
Depending on how the Spacefarer handles Mathis and how he performs during the operation, he can either remain with the Fleet and later become available as a recruitable crew member, or be expelled and turn hostile. Mathis is not portrayed as one of the Fleet’s most powerful leaders, but his mix of bravado, resentment and opportunism makes him a memorable secondary character within the Crimson Fleet storyline.
Meet Christopher Lee Parson
Christopher Lee Parson is an American actor, voice actor, director, writer and producer whose career has included video games, television, animation, film and commercial voice-over work. He is particularly well known to gamers as the voice of Junkrat in Overwatch and Overwatch 2, Gladiolus Amicitia in Final Fantasy XV and Vikhor “Stitch” Kuzmin in the Call of Duty series.
In Starfield, Parson lends his voice to several characters, including Mathis Castillo, Cornelius Townard, Lon Anderssen, Philippe Corbin, William Crowley and The First, demonstrating his ability to give distinct personalities to multiple inhabitants of the Settled Systems. His other notable video game credits include Prey: Mooncrash, where he voiced Ramon Delgado and Benjamin Wheeler, alongside additional voice work in major titles such as Grand Theft Auto V, Red Dead Redemption II, Mafia: Definitive Edition, L.A. Noire, Prototype 2, Red Faction: Guerrilla, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Remnant II, Diablo IV, World of Warcraft, Need for Speed Unbound and Dune: Awakening.
Outside gaming, Parson has worked extensively in television and animation, contributing performances to Saturday Night Live, Marvel’s What If...? and ARK: The Animated Series, and he spent several years as an on-air promotional voice for the Syfy Network. His film career also extends behind the camera: Parson has worked as a writer, director and producer, including on the dramatic feature A Cloud So High, starring Aaron Tveit, John Savage and Denise Richards. His work across film and television includes both character performance and the less visible world of voice-over, narration and additional dialogue, allowing him to move easily between live-action productions, animation and interactive entertainment.
With roles ranging from the wildly unpredictable Junkrat to the ambitious and confrontational Mathis Castillo, Parson has developed a varied career built around his versatility as both a performer and filmmaker.
