Starfield Main Quest Overhaul
The main quest of Starfield is, like everything from Bethesda, a flawed masterpiece. The point of this mod is to fix that by removing the flaws from the questline, including almost all of the temples, turning it into the best it can be.
Power & Temple Overhaul
- Temple Reduction: The number of Temples has been decreased from 240 to one (two if you complete Barrett's quest).
- Automatic Power Acquisition: Once you complete the first Temple, you automatically receive all powers for the Artifacts you have already collected.
- Artifact-Based Progression: After the first Temple, you gain powers immediately upon picking up Artifacts.
- NG+ Mechanics: Each NG+ cycle increases your power ranks automatically at the start, neither Artifacts nor Temples are required for upgrades.
- Lore Integration: All mentions of the other Temples have been removed from the game to maintain story consistency.
- Anomaly Removal: Gravitational anomalies have been removed. The remaining Temple has been moved to a barren moon to explain why it remained undiscovered.
- Note: If used with Desolation or The Great Unknown, the moon will have no humans on it.
Quest Flow & Immersion
- Manual Quest Starts: The quests The Old Neighborhood, All That Money Can Buy, and Further into the Unknown no longer start automatically. They only enter your quest log once you speak to the relevant NPC, allowing you to take breaks or skip the main story entirely.
- Starborn Encounters:
- Random encounters now only occur after A High Price To Pay to preserve the impact of the Hunter’s entrance.
- In NG+, encounters occur from the start if you choose to skip the main quest (toggable via gameplay settings).
- Special Universes: The chance of encountering a "special" alternate universe in NG+ has been increased to 50% (up from 15%).
Fixes & Tweaks
- The Empty Nest: The map is now removed from your inventory during the quest to prevent you from "stealing" Coe family property.
- Clutter Removal: The sextant in the Coe estate that you always trip over has been removed.
Compatibility
This is designed to work with my other mods without issue. It shares several changes with Take Your Time, so the load order between the two does not matter.
