Adds dogs and cats to Starfield.
Hear the SSNN report at a news kiosk, then visit the UC Distribution Center (New Atlantis, Commercial District) and talk to adoption officer Hana Reyes.
Dogs: Labrador, German shepherd and golden retriever. Cats: tabby, calico, white and black. By default, up to 3 of each, one adoption every 3 game days.
Activate a pet to follow, wait, lie down or be petted. Waiting pets nap; NPC-owned pets rest near their owners. Petting grants a 180-second buff.
Name or retrieve adopted pets through the Pet Registration Slate or outpost registry terminals. Some NPCs have cats or dogs; some city kids have dogs.
Build water and kibble bowls under Miscellaneous at an outpost. Fill with water or Pet Kibble (crafted from red meat at a cooking station). Each fill serves 3 visits. Activate a full bowl to call a waiting pet; visits also happen automatically. Self-napping pets can wake to eat or drink.
Settings > Gameplay Options > Dogs & Cats Options: unkillable pets, toughness, attack strength, follow distance, adoption cap and waiting days.
