Roy's Craftable Plushies | Old Roy & Co. Textiles Workshop
By MightyBoltar
Community Rating
Give your ships, homes, and outposts a little more personality with 35 craftable plushies and the Old Roy & Co. Textiles Workshop. From the Explorer's Eye crew to the Happy Chunks line, there's a little character for every corner. And now every plushie has a voice and a story.
AI ASSISTED, HUMAN DRIVEN
The custom 3D models and base textures were generated with AI from my own character concepts and reference art. Most plushie voices and some in-game artwork were also generated with AI. The plushie stories were drafted with AI from my own notes. I directed the designs and changes, oversaw the cleanup and sizing, and tested every plushie in game. If AI-made Creations aren't your thing, no hard feelings.
WHAT'S NEW IN 2.0.0
- Every plushie has its own voice when you pick it up. Thirteen also have a reaction when kicked. The Valet Bot and Tech Grenade talk now too.
- Every plushie has a story: a character note at the workshop and longer stories across four craftable Plushie Catalog data slates.
- New arrivals include Neon Ramen Quokka, StarPal Grus, D'Art, and Phat Albert.
- The workshop has been rebuilt as a worn oak and iron sewing desk with glowing teal details, inspired by childhood memories of my mother's sewing.
- Optimized textures make for a much smaller download.
MEET PHAT ALBERT
Phat Albert is a polar bear with a useful secret: his backpack hides the items stored inside it from contraband scans while he is aboard your ship.
Place him inside your ship and activate him to store or retrieve items. The protection applies to the contents of his backpack.
GETTING IT IN GAME
Build the workshop from: Outpost build menu > Crafting > Old Roy & Co. Textiles Workshop
Workshop materials: 4 Structural, 3 Iron, and 2 Fiber.
Crafting costs:
- Standard plushies: 2 Fiber + 1 Ornamental.
- Phat Albert: 24 Fiber, 12 Ornamental, and 2 Supercooled Magnet.
- Each Plushie Catalog slate: 1 Fiber.
Drop a crafted plushie from your inventory to place it, and pick it up again whenever you like.
REQUIREMENTS AND UPDATING
Requires only the Starfield base game. No DLC, script extender, or other mods are required.
Standalone small master, with no vanilla record overrides.
Update the existing Creation; your placed workshops and plushies are preserved. After updating, fully close and relaunch Starfield before loading your save so the new voices load.
TOOLS AND ASSETS
Every plushie was textured in Adobe Substance 3D Painter and cleaned up in Blender, using Bethesda's Starfield extension for Blender.
Some pieces are built on Starfield's own base-game meshes and materials. No other modder's assets are used. Some animal calls are recordings of real animals used under free licenses; others were created with ElevenLabs Studio.
