Explore. Photograph. Collect. Bring the adventure home.
Inspired by the Starfield Pals Explorer's Eye photography challenges, Roy's Explorer's Eye turns exploration into something you can photograph, collect, display, and remember.
Discover 21 collectible bobbleheads throughout the Settled Systems, earn a unique bonus the first time you find each one, and watch your display shelf fill as your collection grows. Capture your travels with 45 custom Photo Mode frames and expanded camera controls, then decorate your ships and outposts with handcrafted galleries, badges, posters, banners, lights, Settled Systems advertising, and photography created from real in-game adventures by the Starfield Pals community.
AI ASSISTED, HUMAN DRIVEN
Yes, this Creation was made with AI.
Most of the custom 3D decor — including the bobbleheads, podium, Banner Tower, fountain, nightlight, cat lamp, Cadwell's book, and display shelf — began with AI-generated models or artwork created from my own concepts and reference material. The Settled Systems Ads artwork was also AI-generated, and AI tools helped create many of the Photo Mode frames, camera options, scripts, and game-ready assets.
I designed and directed the project, performed hands-on cleanup, and tested everything in game.
The photography is different: every photograph in the galleries is a real in-game Starfield screenshot taken by a real player.
If AI-assisted Creations aren't your thing, no hard feelings.
NEW IN 1.5
- 21 collectible bobbleheads, each with a first-find bonus.
- Bobblehead Display Shelf that automatically fills with the characters you've discovered.
- Most Valuable Character Podium for three story-earned bobbleheads.
- 27 Settled Systems Ads, both as buildable posters and advertising appearing throughout populated locations and POIs.
- New decor including the Banner Tower, Stone Slab Fountain, Moonbeam Nightlight, Polygonal Cat Lamp, pennants, and neon signage.
- 45 Photo Mode frames.
- Reorganized Explorer's Eye build menu.
- Cadwell the Clockwork Stargazer, a readable book.
- 17 Explorer's Eye Photo Mode camera options.
- Idle Camera Aid item for your Favorites menu.
THE BOBBLEHEAD HUNT
Twenty-one Explorer's Eye bobbleheads are scattered throughout the Settled Systems.
You might find one tucked inside a container while exploring a random POI. Another may appear in a shop when its inventory refreshes. Three special Most Valuable Character bobbleheads are earned through stories you'll experience along the way.
Every new bobblehead you discover grants its unique bonus the first time you find it.
Build the Bobblehead Display Shelf in your ship or outpost and it automatically fills with the characters you've already discovered. Find another one, and its place on the shelf is unlocked.
Three can't be found randomly.
A few hints:
- One waits for someone willing to answer a distress call and stand their ground.
- One belongs to a veteran you'll come to know through the UC Vanguard.
- And one? Sometimes the most valuable people are the ones you choose to let into your life.
Already walked those roads? Explorer's Eye checks your story progress, so you won't have to complete them again.
Explore the Settled Systems. Find them all.
PHOTO MODE
Explorer's Eye adds 45 custom frames in its own Photo Mode category:
- Explorer's Eye badge frames
- Logo and gold frames
- Survey and themed frames
- Topographic and map overlays
- SLR, video, rangefinder, and cine viewfinders
Explorer's Eye Camera settings are found under Settings > Gameplay.
Out of the box, Photo Mode has no range limit or collision, can orbit closer to your character, and offers wider selfie tilt and color controls.
Seventeen settings let you customize camera range, collision, orbit distance, movement speed, turn speed, tilt, selfie behavior, field-of-view range, depth-of-field ranges, color ranges, portrait head tracking, loading screens, ship camera settings, and the idle camera.
The Idle Camera Aid item lets you launch the game's idle camera directly from Favorites.
PLACEABLE DECOR
Find Explorer's Eye under Decorations in both Outpost and Ship build menus.
The collection includes:
- Explorer's Eye posters
- Rank I badge plaques
- Decorative expedition photography
- Community Gallery artwork
- Wide panoramic artwork
- 27 Settled Systems Ads
- Banners and the animated Banner Tower
- Explorer's Eye neon signs
- Stone Slab Fountain
- Moonbeam Nightlight
- Polygonal Cat Lamp with five selectable colors
- The complete bobblehead collection
- Most Valuable Character Podium
- Bobblehead Display Shelf
The framed photography is a curated collection of manually created decor built from real Starfield screenshots contributed by members of the Starfield Pals community. Your own Photo Mode screenshots are not automatically turned into buildable artwork.
SETTLED SYSTEMS ADS
Visit populated locations and points of interest and you may find rotating Settled Systems advertising appearing naturally on clear walls.
The ads are temporary, change between visits, and disappear when you leave the area so they don't accumulate in your save. Player homes are left alone.
REQUIREMENTS AND COMPATIBILITY
Requires only the Starfield base game.
No DLC, script extender, or other mods are required.
Standalone small master. No vanilla records are overridden.
Small startup scripts add the Photo Mode category, vendor stock, loot entries, and camera options without replacing the game's existing lists.
Bobblehead bonuses use their own perks and stack with skills, magazines, and other collectibles.
UPDATING FROM 1.4
Install 1.5 over your existing version.
Everything you've already placed stays where it is.

1.2== v 1.2 - Wide Gallery + Decor ==
Nine panoramas in a Starborn metallic frame built for wide shots, a Decor set (the glowing Explorer's Eye neon sign, the Cydonia Safety Award plaque, two hanging banners), 18 new Photo Mode frames (15 logo placements, 3 gold contour frames), Decorative Poster 15 and four new Community Collection posters. 115 placeable decorations and 40 Photo Mode frames in all. The frames category is now added by script instead of an override, so it stacks with other frame mods. Nothing existing moves. -
1.00== Small Master Conversion ==
NEW v1.0 — Small Master conversion
IMPORTANT — READ BEFORE UPDATING: this update converts Explorer's Eye to a small master. One-time cost: decorations you placed from this mod will disappear from your save and need re-placing (1 structural + 1 fiber each). Screenshot your gallery walls before updating if you want to rebuild the layouts. Everything you place from v1.3 onward is permanent across all future updates.
Why: a small master doesn't consume one of the limited full-master slots in your load order, and it resolves the long-standing caveat where other frame mods could hide the Explorer's Eye Photo Mode category. Thanks to MrZHDarkstar for the nudge.
Also fixed: build-menu icons now display correctly on every item — the (!) markers are gone for good. -
