The outposting mod for people who don't do outposting.
This is outposting the way it was meant to be. Relieves the tedium of outpost management, makes Industrialist a first-class playstyle, and integrates a simplified simulated market economy into the gameplay loop. Fully featured base for an Industrialist playthrough, or for anyone who wants a quick start early game hub with richer vendors, ship stuff, and easy passive credits to pay for all those crazy expensive gear upgrades.
NEW FEATURES (7/2/26)
- Buildable Nanofab Console allows access to ATM, Market Board, and Builder Control from any ship, outpost, or player home.
- Use the Utilities menu on the blue Info Kiosk to enable Building Anywhere, Building Anything, and extra outposts.
WHAT IT DOES
- Provides a single, integrated resource consolidation and advanced nanotech manufacturing hub to unify and simplify your entire outpost supply chain.
- Build Transmat Storage units at outposts to automatically transport resources from anywhere in the Settled Systems direct to your Quantum Stash at the central hub.
- Quantum tunneling technology replaces glitchy cargo links with instantaneous interstellar mass transport!
- Quantum Stash holds vast amounts of all resources and items (up to 100,000,000kg).
- Buildable Quantum Stash box allows instant access to Quantum Stash from your ship, outposts, and player homes anywhere in the Settled Systems.
- Buildable Quantum Workbenches link directly to Quantum Stash for all crafting.
- Outpost building and player home and ship decorate mode automatically use resources from Quantum Stash in addition to cargo hold, local storage, and player inventory.
- No more shuttling resources from place to place whenever you want to build!
- High volume Nanofab Builders linked to Quantum Stash automatically process resources into all types of manufactured goods.
- Liquidate inventory on the Market Board with sell orders that fill while you play.
- No more vendor reset dance needed to turn production into profits!
- Use Market Board buy orders to acquire bulk resources at wholesale rates.
- Play the market buying low and selling high for even more profit!
- Choose your Market Focus to screen for market orders matching your production and marketing plan.
- Use the Incredifier quantum transmutator for bulk conversion of unwanted excess resources into instant credits.
- Includes Ship Services Tech with all vanilla modules unlocked and custom ships fit for hauling and prospecting.
- Hosts Prospector, Provisioner, Armorer, and Medic vendors with ample stocks of all types of resources, gear, and supplies.
- Large residential building provides a player home with striking views, plenty of space for decorations and furniture, and single cell layout (no loading doors!)
WHERE TO FIND IT
Go to the moon Kurtz orbiting Jemison and land at the Abandoned Nanofab Facility. Talk to the on-site custodian bot near the residential building and complete a short quest to tour and restore the facility to full operation.
WAYS TO PLAY
[[ PROSPECTOR ]] Pick up sell orders for resources trading at a premium, survey planets for deposits to fill your contracts, and when you're done with one, pull up stakes and move on to the next. Sell orders remain open until filled so you can explore at your own pace. Set your Market Focus for sell orders to organic or inorganic resources to match your taste for mining or farming. Great for raising startup capital to fund other market plays.
[[ REFINER ]] Buy any available resources at discount prices, churn into high value finished goods with Nanofab Builders, and keep an eye out for lucrative sell orders to liquidate your stock. Set Market Focus to inorganic resources for buy orders and manufactured goods for sell orders.
[[ TYCOON ]] Cut out the middleman and go straight to the source. Build a vertically integrated supply chain from mine-to-market focusing on premium priced finished goods and streaming in everything needed to make them from your network of mines and farms across the Settled Systems. Use targeted buy orders to cover gaps in your supply chain and focus manufactured goods to get profitable sell contracts for your products.
[[ MARKET MAKER ]] Load up on everything you can get at rock bottom prices and hold until sell orders appear at record highs, then dump your stockpiles for major gains. Profitable with any Market Focus. Manufactured goods have higher profit margins but also require larger capital reserves to buy in big when you spot bargains.
[[ DAY TRADER ]] Scan the market for arbitrage with matched pairs of buy low / sell high orders for instant profit. Remember to cancel pending buys when a matching sell is filled to avoid sinking capital in unsold inventory. Market Focus on organics is ideal since the smaller catalog makes profitable buy/sell pairs more frequent.
HOW IT WORKS
- Transmat Storage container built at any outpost transports all items placed inside to Quantum Stash at the Nanofab Facility. Units have high capacity (100,000kg) to handle items in transit, but only ONE unit may be built at each outpost.
- Access resources and items in Quantum Stash from your ship, outposts, and player homes with buildable Quantum Stash box and Quantum Workbenches.
- Quantum Stash links up automatically when you visit buildable areas to supply resources for outpost building and home or ship decoration.
- Unlike cargo links, Transmat Storage queues resources while you wait or sleep and instantly moves them when game time resumes, so your supply chain stays in sync with builders and harvesters.
- Resources and manufactured goods are moved immediately. Other items are shipped at low priority and routed eventually to your Quantum Stash.
- Continue using cargo links if you like and place Transmat Storage only in system resource hubs, or add units at every outpost to replace cargo links entirely.
- Nanofab Builders handle all vanilla production patterns and are fully linked with Quantum Stash to build all types of manufactured goods as needed.
- Builders run continuously until stopped as long as required components are available in the Quantum Stash.
- Builder minimum lot size is 1,000 units and builders will idle until resources are available to build at least one lot.
- Use Builder Control terminal to check status and start or stop builders for products you want to make.
- Use Market Board terminal to place buy and sell orders for commodities.
- Set Market Focus for buying and selling to get orders only for certain categories of commodities (inorganic resources, organic resources, manufactured goods).
- When changing Market Focus there may be a delay of 5-10 seconds while available market orders are refreshed.
- Pending orders active in the mission journal will not be lost when changing Market Focus and will refresh only when completed or canceled.
- Market Board connects to brokers at various trade hubs. Trade hubs are abbreviated in order listings: AC (Akila City), CY (Cydonia), NE (Neon), NA (New Atlantis), GL (Gagarin Landing), HT (HopeTown), NH (New Homestead), RM (Red Mile).
- Fully completed sell orders grant a moderate level scaled XP reward (around 1/5 of XP needed for next level up).
- Nanofab Builder and Market Order progress while sleeping and waiting is capped at around 5 hours UT per wait or sleep cycle.
- Use long sleep cycles (300+ hours UT at Nanofab Facility / 2,400 hours on Venus) to bulk load resources through your supply chain into Quantum Stash and keep builders running continuously while playing.
- Use ATM terminal to collect profits from trades or deposit funds to cover outstanding buy orders. View the Market Report to monitor trading profit and loss.
- For fast credits dump unwanted bulk resources and manufactured goods into Incredifier, use the attached terminal to transmutate, and retrieve proceeds from the ATM.
- Credits from Incredification will at least equal the base sell value of the item, but may be more (up to 2x).
COMPATIBILITY
Should work seamlessly in any load order.
The mod doesn't edit vanilla items or touch any base game outposting mechanics, so it should get along fine with other outpost overhauls and expansions.
Transmat Storage acts like any ordinary outpost container and accepts all resource types. Transmat Storage will move all items put into it manually or from builders and storage chains, but otherwise will not affect anything going on at the outpost.
Tested on console with 36 active outposts and all Nanofab builders running without issues. Should work with vanilla or moderately buffed outpost limits. However, game limits exist for reasons and exceeding them may cause other problems unrelated to this mod.
