CharGen Menu Any Time

Have you ever wanted to change your background or traits in the middle of a play through? Would you like to eliminate the need to visit Enhance vendors by having an even more robust character customization capability in the palm of your hand? Do you regret naming your character SomeGuy2000, and would rather be SomeGuy2001? Then this is the mod for you.

In front of the bed in your room at the Lodge, you'll find a mysterious box that contains a most impressive piece of jewelry - The Ring of CharGen!

If you equip the Ring of CharGen, a standing button mechanism will appear where you are, allowing you to enter the CharGen menu. You can simply equip the ring and unequip it without leaving the menu, and your new activator will appear, ready to use. Once you've activated the button, you'll enter the CharGen menu, where you can customize your character as desired. When you're finished, you'll return to the game with your newly-customized character, retaining all your skills, inventory, and progress as they were before you pressed the button.

Once you're finished with the standing button, simply strike it once, and it will disappear. Leaving the button in place is also an acceptable option, if desired.

Notes:

You will be forced to rename your character, but you can enter the same name you had before.

The ring takes up no armor slots, so you can wear other rings or clothing items at the same time.

It's unclear if there are any obscure effects to changing your background or traits in the middle of a playthrough. In my testing, there weren't any negative repercussions, but as with all mods, it's recommended you keep a save handy from before you installed the mod, do your own testing, and let me know if you come across any strange behavior.
