Toggle Crowd NPCs

Community Rating
Do you yearn for less crowded cities and towns? Have you ever tried to search for an important person, only to be distracted by a sea of "fake" people? Have you overheard people in cities lament their low population density due to the rapid exodus from earth, yet every city is swarming with more people than beds? Then this is the mod for you.
In your room at the Lodge, on the opposite wall from the door, you'll find two buttons: one with a Down arrow which disables "Crowd" NPCs, and one with an Up arrow which re-enables them.
If at any time you change your mind as to whether you want "Crowd" NPCs, return to the Lodge and press the appropriate button. You can do this as many times as you like.
Notes:
These buttons do not affect named NPCs, nor generic NPCs with titles such as "Security Guard" or "Employee".
You may still rarely encounter an NPC named "Citizen", but these will generally be hand-placed (by BGS) or otherwise not strictly treated as "Crowd" NPCs by the game.
If you want to remove any of the remaining generic NPCs, you should try using my Erase NPCs mod.
As an added bonus, you will likely see a performance improvement in major cities when "Crowd" NPCs are disabled.
Enjoy!
