Nidaba Genetic Program Skin
While Nidaba is a great pet in general, the lack of options makes her as a companion fairly difficult to deal with. She can attack and follow just fine, but one cannot dismiss her, tell her to stay in place, or be assigned/stay at a house or outpost. She also can't carry stuff, which is fair as she's an animal with no pockets. The main issue with her is the fact she stands in the way a lot. It's not like the other companions that if you shove them a bit, they'll move out of the way immediately; she doesn't, because her hitbox is large and thus she gets stuck often. It's the worst on ships with doors due to their small entry size. She gets stuck on them constantly, and as a result you're stuck. Hopefully there will be updates that allow dismiss/stay commands and stop her from getting in your way.
Starfield Bonsai
Great mod. The bonsai are well-made, looks great, and add that subtle natural flair to any personal interior compare to the regular-sized pots in the base game. The additional tables are nice for more than a display. They fuction well as general side tables, and if anything you can display other collections with ease. I like how you have to unlock the items before you can use them, but not hard to unlock. Makes it blend with the game naturally. No issues with it either.
Apollo || Suite
A wonderful house mod that comes with the excellent addition of decorations for your outposts and other houses. In general, the house is HUGE, with 3 large floors, and the option to either keep it decorated as is or decorate it the way you see fit. The new decor included are fitting to its aesthetic and blends well with the vanilla decor and other lore-friendly decoration mods. There are a couple of issues with this mod to be aware of. For one, some of the decor, like the rugs or wall pieces, are difficult to place because they clip easily and some are off-centered when trying to place them, causing you to be at weird angles to get them just right. Another issue is the build area for the Apollo house extends far beyond the house. In fact, it covers most of the residential area in New Atlantis. Could be fun decorating the public spaces, but my concern is any lag and pathing issues it could cause unintentionally.
Galactic Globes
A simple mod that edits the generic gas giant globe found in vanilla with any other planet or star within the Settle Systems. It works as intended and make for a great, long-term collection mod. My only drawback with this mod- which could be beneficial if one is grinding for globes- is how fast they will reset. In some locations, you'll only have to go back and forth through the loading door and a new globe will spawn everytime. Makes for a bit of a cheese. Overall, great mod, no issues in general, looks great as decor, and I got the unfortunate luck to have yet find any Sol System planets. One day I'll find one.
Quantum Stealth Operations | QSO
The weapons in this mod are fantastic, especially the exploding, throwable briefcases. The quest tied to this mod is fun and fitting of the spy-theme, but I felt it was a tad too short. It could have had a segment to find clues about the target's specific location and more history on them rather than knowing exactly where they are from the get-go. Make it more espionage. HEADS UP! This mod will easily break if the load order is not optimized. The quest won't work properly, with the audio breaking completely, the dialogue flying by too quick to read, and the target will already spawn despite not starting the quest. That was my main issue with this mod until I tried a new load order to help my mods work better together and suddenly this mod was working properly. Overall, the weapons and gear are great, the quest nice but short, and the base of operations you get is rather fitting.
At Hell's Gate
This is an interesting cross-over (mini) quest - especially for anyone that has enjoyed the Doom franchise. I like its setup and the creatures were surprisingly powerful. However, I was quite disappointed with how weak the suit and weapons were. The blade looks odd from most angles, and the suit is both underpowered and seems poorly rendered. The gun looks awesome, but I don't recall it being especially useful compared to the many vanilla options we already have in the game. I'm glad I didn't pay for it.
Starfield Compendium
Rather unfortunately, this mod is not compatible with a lot of other UI mods and, as the description says, your data that you input doesn't save between loading the game. Which is an absolute shame. I've wanted something like this in the base game since the game came out. Until BGS allows a mod like this to actually work, I'm afraid it was a waste of my free credits I got with the deluxe version of the game.
Heatleech Infestations
A cheap mod that adds a welcome addition to space travel. It's customizable with how big or small you want an infestation to be, how often, and whether partaking in the Vanguard questline affects the fate of these nasty vermin. It fits well with the lore and worldbuilding of Starfield, so much so, it feels like an actual part of the game in my experience. It's a great price for a mod that adds a good level of immersion. And, let's be real, whacking heatleeches with whatever you got will always be fun and chaotic.
Cora Coe Teenager
This mod is great. Cora has HILARIOUS dialogue and you can pass time by dancing with her (featuring lights + music, give her contraband for her extra-dimensional bag of holding… I give her a new haircut with the enhancer gun, a cigarette from Zone79’s mod (Robotics outfit), and she’s one of the greatest companion mods out there. So deep, so well done. Can’t live without her!
Easier Companion Affinity
I found this really helpful if you wanted to build affinity with constellation companions in NG+ or any play through where you might opt out of the main quest line.
D.E.R.E.K.
Didn't care much for Derek. This was one of the earliest mods I purchased, and after a bit I started to regret it. I dismissed him when the constant comments became annoying or a distraction. Soon after, I disabled the mod in my load order. I see that there has been some updates since I tried it, so maybe I'll give it another shot.
Everbright
Pretty good quest with decent length and a follower you can romance (still a rarity in mods). The main location is nice to explore, but there's not much reason to return once everything is done. The radiant quests are there, but there wasn't much to them. The player home you get has a nice view. I just wish it was closer to your ship.
