Galactic Storage Network (GSN)
By StaticMeth0d
Community Rating
Galactic Storage Network (GSN) adds an immersive, lore-friendly storage network to Starfield, providing convenient access to your resources from major settlements, outposts, player homes, and inside your ship when landed or docked nearby.
All connected Storage Nodes share the same storage pool, allowing you to manage items, build, and craft wherever you have network access.
Expand Your Network
A unique Access Key can be obtained at every major settlement, unlocking the Storage Node at that location and expanding your total storage capacity. Access Keys can be purchased from the nearby Ship Services Technician, earned as rewards for specific side quests, or even stolen from certain NPCs and containers.
Outposts and player homes can be connected to the network using an Outpost Registration Key, while Expansion Keys discovered throughout the Settled Systems increase your storage capacity even further.
Build Your Infrastructure
Storage Nodes and Network Consoles require construction kits, which can be purchased from many vendors or crafted at an Industrial Workbench.
Additional Content
GSN also introduces a range of new items to discover throughout the world:
• Cargo+ Skill Magazines - permanently increases storage capacity. • GSN Employee Cap - provides a discount on Access Key purchases while worn. • GSN Coffee Mugs - collectible variants featuring unique slogans. • Display Stand and Display Cases - showcase your GSN key collection.
Designed for Progression
GSN has been designed to progress naturally alongside your character without diminishing the value of ship cargo management or outpost development.
Your storage capacity grows as your network expands - rewarding exploration, credits, and careful planning instead of simply providing unlimited storage. Gameplay Options allow you to fine-tune both the amount of storage awarded and how frequently Expansion Keys are found, tailoring GSN's progression to your preferred playstyle.
Whether you're a junk hoarder, gear collector, builder, decorator, or simply tired of juggling cargo between ships and containers, GSN provides a seamless and immersive storage solution that grows with your adventure.
Getting Started
GSN is designed to support both new and existing save games.
Visit The Lodge to begin your first GSN activity. This introduction is entirely optional, but recommended if you'd like to establish your network quickly.
Technical Details
Multiple GSN containers: Multiple Network Consoles and Storage Nodes can be installed in your ship and outpost for convenience. If you place several containers very close together, only one will be active at a time.
Player homes: Player homes must first be registered by inserting an Outpost Registration Key into a Storage Node. Once registered, the Storage Node can be replaced with a more compact Network Console, which provides GSN access without occupying as much space. This can be particularly useful in smaller interiors.
Existing save games: When installing or updating GSN on an existing save, scripted GSN objects in your current location may not initialise immediately. If necessary, leave the area and then return. For best results, install or update GSN where there are no existing GSN containers nearby.
