Helix - Cyberware Augmentation
Your body is baseline. It doesn't have to be.
This mod adds a full suite of cyberware augmentations: ten implants, each rewiring a different system in your body to push you past what flesh and bone were built for. Move quieter. Hit harder. Burn less oxygen in a vacuum. Read a room before you've said a word.
None of it is free. Every implant you install strips away a piece of what makes you human; your Starpower drops with each one, by an amount you control. How far you're willing to go is up to you.
What's installed
Ten implant types, each targeting a different part of the body:
| Implant | Effect |
|---|---|
| Respiratory | Reduces oxygen use |
| Muscular | Boosts melee damage and carry weight |
| Neural | Cuts XP, crafting, and research costs; speeds ship recharge |
| Kinetic | Improves movement speed and sneak |
| Cardiac | Boosts health and oxygen regen |
| Empathic | Improves prices, persuade, and scanner duration |
| Dermal | Reduces incoming damage |
| Adrenal | Slows time when your health drops low |
| Immune | Resists environmental hazards |
| Metabolic | Extends chem and healing duration |
Getting them
Implants are found in boss containers or can be bought outright from Ryujin Industries. Once you've got one in hand, any doctor will install it for a fee; no black-market surgeon required, just cash and a chair. They can be removed by the same doctors.
Upgrading
Each implant can be upgraded twice at a Pharmaceutical Lab, using Chemistry Skill and researching Performance Enhancement, with X-Tech and Alien Genetic Material as ingredients. Push far enough and even a single augmentation becomes a serious force multiplier.
The cost
Every implant, once installed, reduces your Starpower by an amount you set yourself, configurable to match how punishing you want the trade-off to be. Go all in on ten augmentations, and you'll be a walking weapon system. You'll also be a lot less human.
Implants persist through NG+, once you've paid the price, it stays paid across the Unity.
Compatibility
No vanilla records are altered. Load order doesn't matter, and Helix should sit cleanly alongside any other mod.
