- Want to stay achievement friendly?? Simply place these as usual, then untick in your load order. It really is that simple. L.O.S.T is, and always will be, 100% free to use.
Managing a large Starfield mod list can get messy fast... L.O.S.T (Load Order Sorting Tags) is a lightweight quality-of-life series designed to bring clarity and structure to your load order.
Each entry in L.O.S.T is an empty small esm file that acts as a visual header or divider. These placeholders don’t alter gameplay or assets - they simply help you organize mods into neat categories and sections. Think of them as bookmarks for your load order, making it easier to scan, troubleshoot, and keep things tidy.
L.O.S.T is about organization, not alteration. It’s a simple toolkit for modders and players who want their load order to look as good as their game. Whether you’re running a handful of tweaks or a galaxy‑sized overhaul, L.O.S.T helps you keep everything in its place.
- As much as I would love to provide a more glamorous alternative, for now at least, this is as good as we get.
WHY USE L.O.S.T?
- Makes large mod lists easier to navigate

- Adds visual clarity to your load order manager
- Provides a shared standard for community mod lists
COMPATIBILITY
- Works with any mod manager that recognizes files (Vortex, MO2, etc.)
- Safe to install/uninstall at any time
- No scripts, assets, or gameplay changes
FAQ
Q: Do these affect my game? A: No. L.O.S.T files are completely empty small masters. They don’t add scripts, assets, or gameplay changes. They exist only to give your load order visual structure.
Q: Why can’t I use the same divider twice? A: Each can only appear once in a load order due to each divider utilizing the filename itself.
Q: Will this slow down my game or cause conflicts? A: Not at all. Since the files are empty, they don’t interact with other mods or the game engine. They’re purely organizational.
Q: Do I need these if I only use a few mods? A: Probably not- But if you’re running a large number of mods, L.O.S.T makes it much easier to keep track of categories and troubleshoot issues. Otherwise, L.O.S.T is still great if you just want some added flair.
Q: Are these safe to install/uninstall mid‑playthrough? A: Yes. Because they don’t contain data or scripts, you can add or remove them at any time without affecting saves.
Q: Why is this useful for the community? A: L.O.S.T provides a shared “visual language” for load orders. When everyone uses the same headers and dividers, it’s easier to share lists, troubleshoot conflicts, and keep things consistent.
