TN's Modular Starborn Suits
Community Rating
This mod lets you separate the helmet and space suit of any starborn armor, lets you wear a boost pack with your starborn armor, lets you modify your starborn armor like any other space suit, and the helmet like any other helmet, and even lets you upgrade the space suit to higher tiers!
That's right, I'm still at it. This time the Starborn Space Suits were my target. It was dumb you couldn't wear the helmet separately, so I changed that. It kind of sucked you couldn't still use a pack with your fancy new suit, so I changed that too! Why can't I mod these? Did my perk points in Spacesuit Design mean nothing to the end game?
Simply take the suit you've gotten as a reward for completing the dang game, and go to the Industrial Workbench to craft a modular (helmetless, capeless) version out of your current space suit, and craft the helmet for it (or cape if it had one) separately. You can even craft it back to the original suit if you want. (Warning though, you will lose any mods you put on it, and the legendaries on it will re-roll. You are crafting a whole new item technically.) Once that is done, take it to the spacesuit workbench and mod it to your heart's content!
Special Notes:
- You will re-roll any legendaries on the item, and you will lose any mods when crafting the modular suit.
- The default suit (with helmet included) can also be modded if you want, but you may have to craft the item back and forth in order to get mod slots on it (if you found it before installing this mod).
- You can upgrade the tier of the suit (Calibrated, Refined, Advanced, Superior) if you want. It takes ranks in Spacesuit Design to do so, and unlocks as you level up (superior unlocks at level 50).
- Now craft separate Starborn Capes for the appropriate suits. The modular suits no longer come with one by default.
- You can craft an invisible "pack" so you can have 9 legendaries, and split your mods up. If you use a boost pack with your suit that has a booster on it, remove the booster from the suit. They interact badly.
- You can also craft the Graviton Pack mod to replace your Boost Pack slot with.
- Craft a special Flight Cap that you will keep on even when your helmet is off!

1.4.6Uploaded for PS5!
Updated for Free Lanes!
Built in compatibility with the Visor effects mods. -
1.4.3Added the Flight Cap which can be crafted and worn even when your helmet is off!
Some fixes to the suits to use the correct Quality mods when you first craft them. -
1.4.2- I fixed the Integrated Backpack, so companions will wear it now.
- Starborn Capes can be crafted without needing their suits, as long as you've gone through the unity enough times.
- When you split your Starborn Suit at the crafting table, it now gives you BOTH the suit and helmet at the same time (thanks to a script trick).
- I am going back to the old armor modifications due to no longer needing to use the hacked version. Since Starfield fixed this issue sometime ago, we can phase that out. You will want to update the mods in your armor as soon as possible. By the next update, the hacked mod slots will be gone. They are still in the game but uncraftable for now, so they will keep working. -

It turns out that Bethesda had much bigger plans for our humble clothing than what made it into the game. They had a whole perk called Textiles that got cut at the end...
