The #1 Starfield Weather and Climate overhaul on Nexus with over 6,000 downloads before the launch of Creation Kit - now available on Creations. I tested this myself on Xbox, and it works very well without any performance issues. The new weathers are based on Vanilla weathers and perform the same.

Royal Weathers adds increased weather variety to all locations, along with brand new weather combinations that do not appear in Vanilla.

Brand-new weathers are added to volcanic regions and Earth. Weather variety is significantly increased for all locations based on realism. For full, detailed description, see the Nexus page and Changelog as this has received many updates since its first version in January, 2024.

This should be lore-friendly and immersive. Planets that Bethesda did not give weather will continue to not have weather. Planets that Bethesda gave weather, which include some planets without atmospheres or magnetospheres, will continue to have weather appropriate to those locations.

New weathers have been added to volcanic regions, Earth, and plenty of other places. There is no inappropriate weather like rain on Moons. Hostile human encounters are now possible on Earth so that there is something to do while you enjoy the new weathers.

There are some surprising weathers that are part of the vanilla game once you really get exploring, such as rain and thunderstorms in volcanic regions, even on planets with weak magnetospheres and no atmospheres.

I will be doing an Xbox playthrough and thoroughly testing my mods. Other Royal Mods will move slowly to Creations as I have time to carefully test them. For PC users, I encourage you to check them out on Nexus. I am a teacher and writer living in a one-bedroom apartment with my wife and cats, and working hard on this in my spare time.

Any support appreciated. I do not use Creations myself, so all the time and effort I put into this platform is purely to make Starfield more enjoyable to others.

Load Order: After any other weather mods if you don't wish to disable them on a current playthrough. Other weather mods tend to be very simple and should be safe to disable and replace with Royal Weathers.

Otherwise, load order shouldn't matter as very few mods touch climate records. You can leave other weather mods loaded before Royal Galaxy if you like their weather change frequency or other settings, but that shouldn't feel necessary.

Compatibility: Everything.

Suggested: A Color Filter remover. I, personally, use Cine Fidelity 2.0 from Nexus, but anything will do.

Known Issues: -People occasionally accuse this mod, and Vanilla Starfield, of rarely playing an inappropriate weather. I think this is mostly because some Starfield planets are more unique than many realize. -Terrormorphs. ;)

Support: Really should not be needed for this mod. It is simple and compatible. I highly doubt any issue you might run into is related to this mod. But please specify your platform and that you are using creations when posting on the Nexus Page or Royal Mods Discord.

How do I know it is working? You installed it. :) Alternatively, if you have trust issues: (or because lore-friendly weather changes might be difficult to notice) go to Earth. Sleep in your ship until you see a single cloud in the sky. Earth has no weather in Vanilla at all, so this is the simplest test.

Permissions: Reach out and ask if you have a genuine use.

My permissions are as closed as I am allowed on the platform and based on the content included. While I initially released mods open permissions trying to honor the awesome Cathedral Concept, for Starfield I found my permissions were only used to create inferior imitations. Translations invited and patches, of course, welcome if they set this plugin as a master.

Note: For Royal Mods, "Lite" means that features were removed if not compatible with Creation Kit or Xbox, and the plugin was converted to an .ESL flagged .ESM. For this mod, settings related to encounters and proc gen were removed to enhance compatibility and simplicity.

While .ESL appears to have no major benefits right now, I am hoping that a future Bethesda patch will fix the plugin limit. Lite versions of my plugins will receive fewer updates as working with Creation Kit can be very time-consuming.

My preferred version will remain the non-lite .ESM plugin from Nexus, that I can easily tweak and patch via xEdit. Patches for Royal Mods may not work with the .ESL flagged Lite plugins. More testing is needed. As Creation Kit and xEdit are updated, I will eventually move to 1:1 version parity.

For now, Lite versions will only show up as an optional file on Nexus and I strongly suggest all PC users stick with the versions of my mods that have been consistently working since October, available on Nexus.
