Free Lanes Update (1.7+)
Adds support for the new X-Tech upgrade system. However, you may still choose the specific Legendary perks you want for the Mini-Cutter just like in previous versions of the mod rather than having to randomly roll for them.
To balance the various upgrade tiers, the cost to choose a new Legendary perk for ranks 1-3 are: X-Tech x 1 + 50000 credits.
NOTE: You may also now add the new Legendary Rank 4 perks to Mini-Cutter. Cost is the same as for any other weapon.
Content Patch 1 Now Live (v1.4+):
- Adds new option to customize beam color. Include default, Red, Orange, Gold, Yellow, Green, Cyan, Blue, Pink, Purple, White, and Prismatic which cycles through these.
- Adds a new option to change visual effects for the Lasers Rank 4 Burning proc to a different element (to match laser colors). Options include default Flames, Frost, Shock, Corrosive, Poison, Bleed, & Radioactive.
- Adds 11 new Legendary options, many with custom particle effects and shaders. Tier 1: Extended Magazine & Lawful. Tier 2: Chilling, Corrosive, Incendiary, Lacerate, Poison, & Radioactive. Tier 3: Explosive, Tesla, Titanium Build.
- Vastly expanded leveled lists to broaden selection plus introduced 7 new unique named pre-rolls that come with pre-set visual themes and effects. You have a small chance to find these wherever Mini-Cutters can be found, or scattered in the world.
- Added 3 new weapon skins: Pale White, Forest Green, and the custom "Fire Starter" skin. Enabled all custom skins to also be usable on the standard game Cutter at the weapon crafting station!
- Companions & non-companion followers (mostly mod-added) can now use Mini-Cutters! (The 1st time you equip them, you will need to equip the weapon twice as it will instantly unequip when enabling).
- The three existing uniques have been updated so when you find them they have a truly unique name.
- Mini-Cutters have been swapped from Laser Rifles to Laser Pistols. Nothing changes as far as their use, however they will now advance the Pistols skill instead of Rifles and benefit from Pistol perks. This actually makes more sense as it not only is how you hold the weapon, but since it isn't a weapon you reload the tier 4 perk from Rifles was basically useless for the Mini-Cutter.
- Added a new 5x scope to go with the 1.25x and 2x variants.
- Moved the battery indicator to the battery area so it isn't blocked by the scope and re-textured the bright white battery cap to look more streamlined.
- Many other improvements to existing systems.
Based on the generic mining cutter, this highly adaptable prototype has been streamlined and re-imagined as an offensive implement. With the Mini-Cutter Mk. 1 you have all the versatility of a focused beam laser but with all the offensive capabilities of a pistol, the range of a rifle, the ability to aim down sights and slow time with boost pack perks, harvest resources in or out of scanner mode, plus much more!
Items are auto-injected into leveled lists, allowing you to find them wherever your would normally find cutters without causing mod conflicts. They can also be crafted at the industrial workbench. Additionally there are many unique mods to research and customize your new weapon.
- The Mini-Cutter can be used both in and out of scanner mode (no swapping), and is capable of harvesting resources in either.
- The weapon comes with several built-in color skins you can select at the weapons workbench, and works with any skins designed for the standard cutter (like the Old Mars skin).
- Mods you can unlock and add allow for anything from Aim Down Sight capabilities to beam stabilization, increased range, even stealth capabilities.
- There are a selection of custom legendary perks that can be unlocked and added or changed as well, albeit for a larger time and cost investment.
- Interaction with many different game systems: Laser damage and flame perks, tool damage increase passives, scanner zoom level perks, pistol perks, etc.
- The quality, type, and number of mods and traits that can drop will increase naturally as you level up.
- Weapon power is balanced and follows natural game progression, with roughly the equivalent damage of other weapons you encounter as you level.
- There are several unique named drops you can encounter in the world with special stats that give them each a slight edge.

1.3Fixed an issue with leveled lists that could cause duplicate entries to appear. Existing duplicates will be cleaned up automatically when lists reset (usually 3-7 in-game days depending on your location).

*Crafting will now properly consume required resources.
*Rebalanced crafting: Buy "MiniCutter Legendary Token" at the Trade Authority to change weapon legendary perks at weapon station (1 per change). -
1.1*Better damage scaling. Original release was OP. Now weapon damage base is just over twice the vanilla cutter,increased by quality tiers and the new Magazine & Battery mod option.
*New Magazine & Battery mod: Gives total control over the strength of the weapon. Balances power vs. battery life. Includes option to nerf damage to standard cutter base level for those wanting far less powerful mini-cutters. Can achieve same power as initial release so nothing is taken away!
*NOTE: Crafting at industrial workbench now only requires Special Projects Rank 1 (previously required rank 4). If you are having trouble crafting it you do need this perk, however rank 1 is MUCH easier to get. Alternately you can buy them at shops like Outland in New Atlantis.
*Changed Special Projects perk requirement for crafting at Industrial Workbench to Rank 1 (was 4).
*Fixed a bug preventing the Argos Medic unique mini-cutter from appearing on Vectera.
*Various tweaks and general balancing improvements. -
