Stroud-Eklund introduces the latest addition to the Hyperion line of ships: the Mk3. This vessel is massive—larger than anything produced before—and excels in both aesthetics and functionality. Its design draws inspiration from the Terran Battlecruiser from StarCraft II. All Ship parts are standard, no mods or DLC are required. You can purchase this ship from the ship dealer at the New Atlantis spaceport.
Key Features:
- Design inspired by the Terran Battlecruiser from StarCraft II.
- Class C vessel with 100% maneuverability (powered by 6 SAL 6830 engines).
- Nearly 10,000 base cargo capacity, which can reach 18,000 with all legal bonuses. 380 shielded cargo.
- 14 Crew seats.
- Comes fully equipped with all modules from the "Free Lanes" update, as well as a Comspike, Conduction Grid x2, and a Multi-Frequency Jammer—no additional installation required.
- Top-tier beam weaponry: features two types of Class C automatic Alpha turrets x8 and 6 Vanguard Obliterator cannons.
- Thoughtfully designed interior layout for efficient navigation; includes a comprehensive variety of hab modules.
- Features a 3x3 empty Deimos cargo bay—a versatile space where you can create a "space penthouse" with panoramic views or set up extensive storage solutions.
Drawbacks:
- Class C engines allow for transporting large amounts of cargo while maintaining high mobility, but their top speed is lower than that of Class A engines. The ship’s significant mass—due to its cargo capacity—affects acceleration. With all cargo bays installed, it takes 11 seconds to accelerate from 0 to maximum speed, reaching a top speed of 650 while boosting. If you remove the 4 cargo bays located on the top of the ship, the acceleration time from 0 to maximum speed drops to 9 seconds, and the top speed while boosting increases to 750. If you prefer snappier acceleration, - remove that cargo by replacing them with Stroud structures The best compromise in terms of acceleration dynamics is achieved when the ratio of the total engine thrust to the ship's mass is around 33. The fastest acceleration is attained at a ratio of around 40.
- The ship’s dimensions are 9x12, which exceeds the standard maximum size limits. While it fits fine at the New Atlantis spaceport (as shown in the screenshot), you may encounter clipping issues with textures in other locations, such as New Homestead.
- The ship is expensive; you will need to pay approximately 1 million credits.
Bugs:
- If you are unable to set a ship as your primary vessel, you will need to disable the length and width limits using mods or the console.
