Arriving in orbit only to get ambushed by spacers, zealots or any other faction that wants to see your ship reduced to atoms, will usually end up in a fight. After defeating your opponents, you fire up your ship's scanner to find your mission target on the planet's surface and see that one of the ships you've just dispatched has crashed into the surface in close proximity to your intended target.

Wonderful.

As a result, you won't be able use the scanner to initiate landing, forcing you to open the starmap and pick your target that way, breaking the flow of your game.

We've all been there before. You, me, Todd... everyone.

Whether it's a mission destination, your main outpost where you hoard your loot or even one of the main cities (if you're the naughty type), that spaceship debris will remain there until the heat death of the universe in which case, you might possibly have other concerns.

And if for some misguided reason you decide to actually go to that crashed ship, you discover that not only does it not resemble the ship you just blew up, but to add insult to injury, the only salvage to be found is an Austenitic Manifold and and empty Chunks packaging. Maybe a Med Pack as well. There certainly won't be any weapons to loot but if there were, you just know it would be a Ripshank.

This simple mod reduces the chance of the "Spaceship Debris" POI spawning to zero. The "Crash Site" POI location (which looks the exactly the same) can still be found organically when exploring a planet's surface, so if you really want that empty packaging, you can find it there and no one will judge you for it, as far as you know.

Safe to install mid game, but any previously spawned locations will remain until you go through the Unity, or the universe's heat death. Whichever comes first.
