Pacifist Gameplay Additions is first and foremost a roleplay mod that expands on some elements of non lethal gameplay in starfield.
In a snapshot:
- New non-lethal mods for almost every weapon in the game (minus explosives)
- Player consequences for killing
- Boxing skill rework
- Equipable and HotKeyable fists
- EXP rewarded for knockouts
MODS: In vanilla starfield not every weapon recieved a mod making it non-lethal. With this mod, just about every gun and melee weapon was given the option to install non-lethal rounds or a blunted blade to give non lethal gameplay more options as well as make it more accessible.
CONSEQUENCES: After choosing the Pacifist Trait in character creation, your kills will then be tracked. There are 4 levels of consequences (pictured). These levels stack and have different timers for when the are removed going from level 1 - 4, least to greatest amount of time to expire.
When the player has no current consequences for killing a Pacifist's boon is applied in traits. This gives you some nice little bonuses to certain stats.
If the Player kills a certain amount of people, eventually the pacifist trait is removed, and replaced with the "killer" trait, which disables consequences for killing, and gives you some slight bonuses to your lethality and killing ability (Things like crit chance, scope aim stability etc.)
BOXING SKILL: The boxing skill has been reworked to track EM damage dealt instead of unarmed kills. This is because unarmed attacks now apply EM dmg. Though you can accidentally kill someone if you beat on them for too long, you will now likely knock someone out first before that happens when fighting unarmed.
As an added bonus and for quality of life, your fists are now an equipable weapon in your inventory, and can now be assigned to your favorites! No more going into the menus to unequip a gun just to go unarmed.
EXP: You now are awarded EXP for EM knockouts. This change was made to ensure your pacifist character will still be rewarded for not killing, and still be able to level up!
This mod was designed to incentivize non lethal gameplay, and also make killing feel more impactful when it can't be avoided. It was not desgined to be annoying, or have extremely harsh punishments affecting your ability to enjoy the game. It's up to you to uphold your own characters morals.
