Immersive AI Overhaul
By Red_Dog
Community Rating
A comprehensive and immersive overhaul of Starfield's AI. Each faction has their own unique feel according to their lore.
Most Spacers are just untrained, and inexperienced colonists, and freighter crews, who decided it was easier to arm themselves, and just take what they wanted from others. They're likely to just take cover and cower, or run away if faced with any serious opposition. A few though have managed to gain some hard earned combat experience, and will behave more competently. They'll be more likely to seek cover, and most will be more easily suppressed, and may even run away. Some though (usually the leaders), will behave more competently since they've managed to gain some combat experience throughout their careers.
The Crimson Fleet may not be trained soldiers, but they are experienced at ship boarding, and close quarters battle. They excel at getting up close and personal to overwhelm their opponents with shock and awe. Crimson Fleet AI has been edited to reflect more of a close combat focus. They'll make better use of grenades, jump packs, cover, and flanking, to get in close.
Ecliptic Mercenaries are professional soldiers. In real life the majority of mercenaries (aka Private Military Contractors), are combat veterans who formerly served in the military of a sovereign nation. As such, they would be better trained, and more experienced than your average Spacer, Pirate, or religious zealot terrorist. Assaulters will have better accuracy, more likely to use grenades if they have them, more likely to seek cover, and more likely to fire from cover. Chargers will be more likely to advance, flank, and be more dynamic in melee combat (ie sidestepping and dodging). Officers, heavies, and snipers will be more likely to hang back in cover, and provide support fire, as well as displace when advanced upon.
Va'ruun Zealots are religious fanatics who believe that their souls will be saved by The Great Serpent. They don't fear death, and will gladly sacrifice their lives to remove another heretic from the universe. They are merciless in their attacks, almost impossible to suppress, and never run from battle.
The Starborn are highly challenging opponents with multiple lifetimes of experience to hone their skills and abilities according to the lore.
All NPCs overall will be more alert, respond faster, use boost packs more, work together, use cover, suppress, be suppressed, fallback, etc.
Recommended to load last to avoid any potential conflicts. No NPC forms are edited, which allows for maximum compatibility with other mods. Separate compatibility patches are available for DLCs and popular mods which require them.

Really love the intelligence this gives the AI. You hear the enemy yelling to flank you when you're in cover while others start tossing grenades to try and flush you out. They use boost packs more and different factions have different personalities to their combat behavior. It's a great addition for any player wanting smarter enemies.

Strip any equipped armor or clothes from your fallen foes! Or simply loot-all with 1 button. Steal items from knocked-out targets instead of pick-pocketing and waking them up!
