SMSEX or Ship Modules Snaps (and Flips).
Brought to you from the graveyard of obselete plugins, Ship Module Snap (and flips) Expansion, or SMSEX Was originally a Structures Flips and Snaps mod, created by Gilibran. Similar to Rux's excellent Better Flips and Better Snaps but older. This mod was created before Creation Kit and used Xedit as the primary tool plus an old version of NifSkope. As time went by and Rux's Better Flips and Snaps became the established standard, SMSEX has languished and become irrelevant. However, SMSEX still had some flips and a few cool ideas that had not been done before. After a lot of trepidation, I asked the former owners if I could take a stab at making it work with Rux's Better Flips. Removing everything that I thought was done better by Rux and keeping all the things that was done better by Better Flips. Eventually it morphed into a fair bit more. Today's result, while far from perfect, gets most users closer to a less restrictive ship design.
I have updated and added my own features using NifSkope and Creation kit to Frankenstein a new updated plugin. I have expanded on his mod, creating new structures and interesting ways to attach objects. Made to be compatible with Rux's Better Flips but NOT requiring BetterFlips, this mod hopes to embrace and extend on both Rux's Work and Gilibran's work.
Requirements: This plugin contains some items that work with best with something that allows for a loose overlap tolerance. However the majority of structures and utilities do not require this. A few of the flips have poor collision geometry. It is my hope to eventully fix thise.This Creation should be loaded after Rux's Better Flips in your Load-Order as this overrides a few structures from Rux's Better Flips mod.
What does this plugin do? This plugin adds to Better Flips where Better Flips missed some items. These items include:
Deimos Wings and Hull structures New Nova Wings and Cowl structures Stroud cowl pieces, Wings and engine braces Taiyo Thrusters and cowling pieces and finally a fully flippable and paintable 3x2 cowl that was never useful Also included, a unique set of 'Hab Snaps' Hab Snaps will extend your snapping ability to new levels. These Hab Snaps will allow for Snapping among doors so that one could set up snaps around habitats. Included are a set of Hab Snaps, capable of connection to virtually any space vehicle's snap, such as M-class ships, Stations and structures. Hab Snaps Will turn one snap point into as many as you want. They come in multiple sizes and flavors and are paintable. Also included are a number of "Spacer Snaps" that allow you to bridge over items with no snaps (May require large Overlap Tolerances) Door Snaps are a special breed of snaps. These Door Snaps will allow creating snap points between joined habitats where none were available before. Get yours, Free today!
A Note on Hab Snaps: Smaller Hab Snaps can be tricky to use. Mostly because of the Snapping and level system in Starfield's Ship Builder. If having trouble placing a snap, It's often best to place it using one of the snaps on the edge of the Hab Snap. Then Let it go. Click on it again and slide it over to the desired location.
This mod will never be a for pay mod. This mod was Authored by Gilibran as creator, JoeColinsc for modernization, Hobart (Delver on Nexus) as current Maintainer. This effort is entirely a seperate entity of the Original SMSEX by Gilibran but for whom, this mod would not be possible. As a result all inquiries should be sent to me on Creations Channel or to Gilibran of The Nexus, if there are qustions about Permissions
This is my first attempt at creating a mod. for other's use. And as such before using, Back-up your save. When at first one doesn't succeed, quit and give up. Go for a walk and try again.

Boy I hate Creations Management system.
A error in snap orientation on the vertically oriented, Stroud Cap 02 Upper structures would prevent snapping to other structures. The Snaps were oriented the wrong way. This has been fixed. This version should not affect your current builds. -

A few fixes. Star Snaps had several misoriented snaps. Although they appeared to look correct in creation kit, they were NOT correct and the ship builder did not like that. In some ways it was like three rights, making a left. butin three dimensions.
A few collision problems in the Star Snaps would make snapping impossible if your ship builder merge tolerance was too low. this required remaking the collision handle (a invisible collision object mesh) to properly fit inside the smaller Star Snaps. I hate doing that because this involvs more geometry voodoo, which scares me.
A snap was mislocated on the Starboard Aft Down angled Nova Big Wing. It was there but not in the right place. This is fixed.
It shouldn't affect any ship build but, erm. beware. -

SMSEX was accidently managing Nova Small Wing-like radiators. This was not intended by me but I hate totally deleting stuff, and that led to problems. This has been fixed. Nova Small Radiators are now managed by Vanilla game or by Rux's Better Flips. -

This version has a new complete set of external meshes. The meshes checked out on my PC version. and seemed to be okay. However I load SMSEX dead LAST. this may affect things. Another thing that may affect you is that I added all external geometry (the guts of a model) in one big batch transfer. If that doesnt work, you will have missing meshes.
Missing meshes will cause a blank space in your ship builder menu and will make any choices fail. It will also cause a spaceship to infinitely try to load if it has any parts made with SMSEX. this means a bad install or the version I uploaded is crap.
People have reported that having this unloaded, creating a save, and activating the mod seeems to work to a degree. This won't help users with SMSEX created spaceship, who will have to make the decision to chance it, or play safe.

1.1.0cRejiggered the portfolio to extend the mass flow. er, I mean, This time I've made some additions and changes to hopefully correct bizarre mesh geometry. I dunno. its hard to test on X-Box without a good channel of testing.
Changes include numerous fixes from the Nexus.com version of SMSEX For Better Flips and also have included Nif files with external Geometries that have been packaged as external geometries. if it works, I'll be so happy but I'm not too please to be sticking hundreds of new geometry folders with a dozen files in each folder. 0.9.2Optimized a whole bunch of messy 3d files. I think that was at least part of the problem with the previous release. I've still bundled geometry files rather than adding them to the archive one by one. if That is what is needed. I'll get to it AFTER Christmas day. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for all you X-Box folks that love spaceships like I do. Merry Christmas

0.9.1Noticed bad meshes created by me when I "optimized them" I figure this might be a problem for X-Box users and the geometries I created. SO I restored the un"optimized" meshes and recreated the Geometries. I could use some feedback.
I guess this mod is still broken. Sorry Guys. I've tried. At this point, I really don't have the needed experience to figure it out. I know its the geometries, but I'm missing something. I'll remove this mod.now until I can figure it out or die of old age. -
