DARK NEON

Dark Neon is a companion quest with a twist or two. Meet Jayson Lux, a spirited free rolling smuggler and ex Freestar soldier, with many tales to tell about the places that you choose to take him. However, as his story unfolds, it becomes clear that Jayson's memory is a little blank and his questions a little too knowing. What secrets is Jayson hiding and why?
What happened to Jayson during the Colony Wars and why can’t he find home?
Bring Jayson along as you venture the settled systems and beyond to discover the riddle of Dark Neon.
Featuring:
- A deep and thoughtful story like nothing you've experienced before. Follow Jayson's personal quest to discover the strange world of Dark Neon.
- over 2800 lines of dialogue.
- A host of fully voiced characters.
- NG+ awareness.
- Main and faction quest awareness.
WHERE TO FIND JAYSON
Jayson can be found in Madam Sauvage's on Neon.
HOW TO PLAY
There are currently several ways to complete Jayson's story. These can be separate or intermingled with one another. Note: Many paths will require that you complete the main Constellation quest to draw Jayson's story to it's natural conclusion. However, there is an alternative path. See below for more details.
-
Freestar Memories: - Travelling with Jayson will eventually unlock 4 particular conversations about his time with the Freestar Collective. These will lead you eventually to seeking Jayson's old crew. From there the story will progress as originally intended, which is to help Jayson find home.
-
The UC Questline: - Following this questline will eventually lead you to an event which mirrors that of the Freestar Memories path. Again, from here, the story will progress as above, whereby you will need to help Jayson find home..
-
The Constellation Questline (main quest): - *without giving away any spoilers - both of the above paths will eventually lead you to a point of no return, where your only course of action is to continue and complete the main Constellation story quest line or choose the alternative path.
Note: If you have already completed the Constellation questline, attempting to enter Unity without Jayson's story being at the correct stage, will not work. Jayson needs to find home* to progress Dark Neon, which can only be done naturally using the three options highlighted above.
You need to understand him before you leap forward into the unknown.
ALTERNATIVE PATH: THE DREAM WITHIN THE DREAM
There is an alternative path to Dark Neon. After finding "Home" you will be presented with a one time choice to continue with the Constellation quest or to "Sleep to think things over". While choosing this option will take you to Dark Neon, the final outcome of the story will be different.
Note: Leaving the area will remove the choice and you will have to follow the Constellation questline to progress.
Additional note: Because of the nature of Jayson's quest, I recommend not bringing along other companions once he finds home.
Enjoy!
Thanks

A NOTE ABOUT CREATIONS IN GENERAL:
Creations are wonderful additions, however, in some cases, some creations can conflict with one another. Be sure check your load order if you use any creation that alters companion behaviour.
Removing creations safely - When disabling any creation, be sure to completely quit Starfield before loading a save file. Even when you disable a creation, some aspects may still be persistent in your current game session memory, so make sure you reload the game completely.
