MegaMod worked before and after Free Lanes, however it is now updated to integrate Free Lanes features such as Legendary 4 and stat modifiers. Also updated description and images.
Full transparency: While MegaMod functions great as is, the author made an oversight and the description did not state MegaMod could change (add or remove features). To be respectful and fair to everyone who purchased it and wants it to remain “as is”, adding or removing features from MegaMod is out of the question. Therefore, this Creation cannot evolve as time goes on, but will still be maintained. Additionally, the sheer depth of MegaMod makes updating it a slower process than desired (5-6 weeks after FreeLanes).

This is my labor of love to this amazing game we call Starfield. I personally used this for over a year. All changes are integrated, with stability and no known game crashing bugs. If the base game works then this works.
MegaMod makes changes to combat, exploration, looting, and roleplaying. Every weapon, armor piece, clothing, player background, perks and skills has been refined and edited. Many companions, generic crew, food and drink, and other aspects have also been improved upon.
This Creation is intended for those that want to improve on many aspects of Starfield at a great Creation Credit value. These thousands of changes are great as is or as a launching pad for you to add other Creations.
Welcome to MegaMod
FEATURES Combat Tighter, faster, more lethal, but still fun combat. Weapons do more damage. Armors protect more and have more defensive buffs. Companions also do more damage. Extensively tested from Normal to Extreme difficulty, from level 1 to 150, from the beginning to NG+10. MegaMod adapts to your playstyle. Pistols, shotguns, automatic weapons, and melee all received considerable improvements and are more viable. Ballistic and energy weapons are much closer to particle weapons, making every weapon and playstyle viable.
Exploration Unique weapons now have additional modifiers, making them worth searching the world! Exploration spacesuits, helmets and packs have improved environmental resistances. Companions have been tweaked to be less annoying and repetitive. They also now give you either other items or more quantity in gifts. Enemy corpses last a bit longer before despawning, letting you finish combat before looting. Edited many foods and drinks so that now finding and looting a kitchen not only feels great, but may save your life. New buffs and modifications for your armor. New clothing research and modifications.
Roleplaying Every character background now has a unique buff associated with it. Changed some NPCs to wear faction appropriate clothing and spacesuits. Non-combat Perks are reorganized and also set in lore-friendly perk trees to increase the sense of progression and mastery of skills.
More, more, more Tweaks to loading screens, small bug fixes, TA kiosk with more credits but values your goods for less money, and basically everything that I wanted improved after 2000 hours of playtime.
LIST OF CHANGES
-All 50+ weapons have been changed. Weapon changes include but not limited to: Weight, Value, Ammo capacity, Reload time, Damage, Critical multiplier, Bugfixes, Fire rate, Minimum and Maximum Range, Minimum and Maximum Range damage dropoff, Aim down sights time, Cone of Fire, Increase per shot, Decrease per second, Recoil, Shots for runaway, etc. Auto modifications do more damage. -Rebalanced quality tiers so that the difference is still noticeable but not as great. This makes your lower tier cool legendary you got useful for longer time without immediately having to switch to a new weapon or upgrade it via X-Tech. -All 60+ Unique named weapons have been buffed! Vendor uniques have been given 2 modifiers. Quest and exploration uniques are fully legendary weapons now! -All 150+ Spacesuit, Pack, and Helmet was changes and includes but not limited to: Value, Weight, Attach points, Environmental Resistances (Airborne, Corrosive, Radiation and Thermal), Combat Resistances (Physical, Energy, Electromagnetic), New craftable mods, Combat bonuses, New Exploration bonuses, New Roleplaying Bonuses, New Full Armor set Bonuses, and edited a legendary effect. Removed buffs hidden from the player so you know what you see is actually what you get. -Every Clothing item was changed (though I want to add more flavor changes in the future). Each clothing item now has its flavor, with different stats and bonuses. Added clothing perk and system similar to Fallout 4: a new perk, buffs, research, and craftable clothing mods for extra buffs. -Small tweaks have been added to companions to make them more useful in every way. Combat, gifts, less frequent annoying dialogue, that sort of thing. -Backgrounds have been enhanced to make more useful as starting classes. Better starting perks, and even master-tier perks. Backgrounds get a non-combat bonuses (to add flavor but you can still play as you like). It is now more viable to, for example, start as a professor or chef and level up that way. -Non-combat perks have been rearranged into perk trees, like all other Bethesda games. Lowered tier costs to maintain same level of flexibility while implementing the perk trees. Combat perks have been rearranged, but with no tree prerequisites. -Crew Specialists went from being useless level 1s to actual specialists at level 4 (and made sure those perks actually did something), making them masters of their specific crafts. -The Trade Authority is now THE TRADE AUTHORITY. TA Kiosks have max credits available but will give you less money for your stuff. Outland vendor now has more credits, but only buys armors and clothing from you. -NPCs wear their appropriate spacesuit to their faction. (Groundpounder and Vanguard Questlines) -Revamped each craftable drink and food to be useful, like powerful potions. Foods of similar types give similar benefits, so they are easily recognizable in the field. -Other refinements: removed odd loading screens, less annoying Trackers alliance lady, quest fixes, longer corpse looting timer, more spaceship slots, less frequent companions conversations, etc.
INSTALLATION - UNINSTALLATION
Safe to install and uninstall for new playthrough or mid-playthrough. Add it and make sure it’s downloaded! (sometimes you may have to click the download button). Changes begin in the tutorial so a new game is an option but not required. If installed mid-playthrough, items already owned may only partially update, but new items will fully update. As with any Bethesda game, it is always recommended you make a save before enabling/disabling Creations.
COMPATIBILITY
-MegaMod edits most of the vanilla items, weapons, armors, clothing, perks, backgrounds, and several NPCs. If any other mod touches any of those vanilla items, there will be a conflict, with the mod loaded last taking priority. Users have reported this Creation is compatible with most other popular Creations. It will only conflict with things that directly edit the objects edited (see description above). Any Creations that add new items, new quests, new companions, new areas, new weapons, new armors, etc., in a standard method will work. Maximum compatibility the goal! -Editing vanilla Armors or Weapons with another Creation may throw that balance off, which might require you changing the vanilla difficulty sliders to get it back to your liking.
STABILITY
Maximum stability because this Creation does not inject new scripts or cells into the game, so absolute minimal risk. No confirmed crashes in over a year of modding. Basically, if the base game works, then this Creation will as well.
