Features
FTL Travel:
Travel through the Galaxy at a speed of your choice. Also allows your ship to come to a complete stop no matter how fast you're going.
Astrogate comes with two FTL "modes" that differ in how they feel and are controlled. This can be configured using the "FTL Mode" gameplay option. Can also be turned off.
Supercruise More responsive and easier to control. Allows for swapping between FTL and sub-light speeds quickly. For those who want to feel like they are moving faster than light.
Use your ship's boost to enter FTL speeds. Disengaging your boost will make your ship come to a complete stop.
Legacy Slower acceleration and quieter. Finer control over your ship's speed. For those who want a relaxing experience.
Accelerate like normal to enter FTL speeds. Use your ship's boost to speed up or slow down to your Grav Drive power level's maximum speed instantly.
FTL may be difficult to use at first. If you find yourself "missing" planets, I would suggest slowing down or even stopping completely once you get within 50LS of a planet so that you can re-orient your ship before re-entering FTL speeds.
Autopilot:
Have your spaceship pilot itself to a destination of your choosing. Feel free to roam your ship or even stay in your pilot seat throughout the journey.
Due to scripting limitations, autopilot must be initiated using the Ship Remote menu when traveling within a system.
Inter-system Travel If you would like to use autopilot to travel to other star systems, the "Grav Jump Behavior" gameplay option must be set to "AUTOPILOT". This will allow you to plot an autopilot course using the Starmap or the Ship HUD by initiating a Grav Jump as you normally would. Make sure you are sitting in the pilot seat when initiating the Grav Jump.
Duration You can customize how long autopilot will take to reach its destination for intra & intersystem travel using the "Autopilot Duration" gameplay options. Autopilot will first determine a base duration, and then multiply it by the multiplier set by the gameplay option. If the "FAST" option is selected, the destination's distance is ignored and the duration will be very short, essentially turning autopilot into a slightly longer and more immersive Grav Jump.
Skipping Autopilot The autopilot journey can be skipped by sleeping/waiting, as long as the "Autopilot Duration" gameplay option is not set to "FAST". Skipping the journey will deliver you directly to your destination.
Landing Autopilot can also land on planets for you. Due to scripting limitations, this can only be done if you are not in the pilot seat when your ship arrives in orbit. To do this, simply initiate autopilot to a planet of your choosing and upon arrival, open the Ship Remote menu and choose the "Land" option. This will let you choose between a new or existing landing site. You can also choose a landing site as the autopilot destination using the Favorites feature, and your ship will automatically begin landing upon arriving at the planet's orbit.
Quest/Random Encounter Compatibility The "Load into Orbit Locations" gameplay option can be enabled to change the method autopilot uses to arrive at destinations. This alternate method allows for random encounters and quest locations that require fast travel to load when autopilot arrives at its destination. Note: Enabling this gameplay option will remove the cinematic arrival from autopilot.
Favorites:
Save Star Systems, Planets, and custom locations to a "Favorites" menu. These saved locations can be used to set your Autopilot Destination and Mark a location to your Ship HUD. Custom locations can consist of landing sites and space POIs, this includes unique locations like The Eye and generated locations.
Mark Locations to your Ship HUD:
Mark a location of your choosing to your Ship HUD so that you can easily Grav Jump/Autopilot or FTL travel there. The Planet can be selected from your "Favorites" or from of a list of the Planets in your Star System.
Surface Landing and Takeoffs:
Remotely make your ship Takeoff and Land while on a planet's surface using a Remote Control. Additionally, you can make your Spaceship takeoff automatically when entering it.
Configuration:
You can configure much of Astrogate's behavior in the Gameplay Options menu.
Instructions:
FTL Travel: To use FTL, remove all Power from your Shield and add Power to your Grav Drive. After a few seconds, FTL mode will engage. Each Grav Drive Power Slot corresponds to a FTL speed up to 12. FTL can be disengaged by removing all Power from your Grav Drive or adding Power to your Shield.
Autopilot: To use Autopilot, equip the "Ship Remote" item to open the menu and select "Set Autopilot Destination". Once a destination is set, select the "Engage Autopilot" option. To Autopilot to a destination in another system, ensure the Grav Jump Behavior gameplay option is set to "Autopilot", then initiate a Grav Jump to your destination while in the pilot seat.
