The Gift Of Charity

Description
Charity boxes will appear on the counters of various bars, looking like miniature computer terminals. You can donate between 1% and 20% of the credits in your character's inventory, as many times as you like, so you can role-play your character being benevolent.
Each time you donate, there is a small chance that you will gain the approval of your companion. The more you donate, and the more often you donate, the higher the chance. Be aware, though, that companion approval has a cool-down time so you can't just spam donations to get high approval quickly. Just make a habit of donating something whenever you visit a bar.
There are nine distinct charities but some have boxes in more than one bar so there are 12 boxes altogether.
If you make substantial contributions to any particular charity, they may award you a special coffee mug. The mugs come in nine different colors. If you contribute to all nine charities and collect all nine mugs, you qualify for a special reward.
The special reward is the eponymous "Gift of Charity". It is a seemingly-ordinary baseball cap but with a secret enchantment that gives you a +25% chance in Persuasion checks while you are wearing it (you can see the effect in your character sheet). It will appear in your room in the Lodge while you are out. No-one will admit to putting it there but you might suspect Walter Stroud.
The charities and the bars where the boxes appear are:
- Akila City: The Rock, The Hitching Post
- Constellation: The Lodge
- Cydonia: The Broken Spear, The Sixth Circle
- Gagarin: Lizzy's
- Hope Town: Pit Stop
- Neon City: Euphorika, Madame Sauvage's
- New Atlantis: The Viewport
- Paradiso: Chez Simon
- Titan: Brown Horse Tavern
Technical Details
This creation was made entirely in the Starfield CK, with VSCode for the scripts. There are some custom materials (for the coffee mugs) but no external textures or sound files.
It does not modify any vanilla forms or scripts, so will not statically conflict with anything. It can therefore go anywhere you like in your load order where a Light Master plugin could go.
It can safely be added to an existing game.
If you do try this creation and decide to remove it from your load order again, you must delete all saves that you have made since first installing it and revert your game to the status quo ante. Removing creations mid play-through is not supported. Never ignore the warning about missing creations when you load a save.
Notes
- The only companions affected are Sarah, Sam Coe, Barrett, and Andreja
- The coffee mugs are random colors but with no repeats
- The threshold for winning a mug is a cumulative 80% donation to a single charity (but not necessarily all at once)
- If you go through Unity, everything starts again
