Fed up with late-game crafting being a boring slog of running round buying up resources when you have ridiculous amounts of money?
Enter Advanced Workbenches - crafting mods at these consumes no resources! Though it does still need at least 1 of each resource in the recipe available. Research:
- [Spacesuit Design 4] Advanced Spacesuit Workbench
- [Weapon Engineering 4] Advanced Weapons Workbench
- [Both] Advanced Starship Workbenches
To find those resources more easily, build Trade Authority Resource Kiosks in your homes, ships and outposts! Research:
- [Commerce 1] Kiosks sell Common & Uncommon raw resources.
- [Commerce 2] Kiosks sell Rare raw & manufactured resources.
- [Commerce 3] Kiosks sell Exotic raw resources.
- [Commerce 4] Kiosks sell Unique raw & manufactured resources.
Compatibility
This modifies the Spacesuit Design 4 perk so the 10% free chance doesn't override the 100% free chance for advanced workbenches.
FAQ
Can you make it so you don't need any resources to craft? Nope, apparently crafting quantities cap at 1. Adding temporary resources would be a compatibility nightmare - just put 1 of everything in your ship and never worry about it again.
