Engagement system updates
Rewarding more points for more contributions on the site
For those that care about the points (I know not all will), I've added a lot more to the engagement system to reward for more actions and make it more transparent + add a longer leaderboard. This whole system is just meant to be a reflection of how much you've contributed to this community.
The Top 10 are still shown on Community lander, but it now includes a link to a Top 100 leaderboard and a breakdown of what actions get what points.
Added lots of new opportunities for points:
- Creating a forum post or replying to a post/comment
- Following a mod author
- Uploading an avatar on your account
- Filling in at least 4 fields in your Starfield profile
- Adding a mod to a collection (yours or someone else's)
When you sign up, just add an avatar and fill in 4 Starfield profile fields to start off now with 50 points.
I have already backfilled all pre-existing users to have new point totals that include these new activities.
Let me know if there's any suggestions here. As the community grows and time passes, I'll probably add multiple time-based leaderboards (eg: top users of the week, month, year, etc), but there's no need to worry with that now.
I realized, we are not able to comment on photos? Was gonna say that Stendarr was also a name of a deity in Elder Scrolls.
I have it on my list to work on in the next day or two, actually.
I've just been debating how to boost the visibility of those comments. I already have the ability for users to create new forum posts from an individual mod detail page (so the post & mod are linked). I was thinking I might do comments on photos similarly and have a board dedicated to photo feedback. I think it would be another way to boost their visibility along with activity on the forum.
What do you think?
it's possible.. pm sent
